Tahiti Back in Vogue for New Zealanders in 2011

Kiwis are leading a tourism recovery in Tahiti with latest figures showing 27% more New Zealanders visited Tahiti and her islands in the first four months of 2011 compared to the same time last year.

In April alone, there was more than 100% increase on Kiwis visiting Tahiti and her Islands.

The sharp rise in tourists from New Zealand and neighbouring Australia returned tourist numbers to the pre-GFC levels of 2008 for the Pacific region.

Tahiti Tourisme’s Regional Director Robert Thompson credited the increase to more value add propositions and packaging options and the perpetual lure of Tahiti as the ultimate getaway.
